Palm Sunday at St Mary's, Bishops Nympton

Members of St Mary's Church, Bishops Nympton gathered to celebrate Palm Sunday.  The congregation met for breakfast before the service started.  During the service the children made palm leaves and handed out palm crosses to the worshippers.  The palm branches are a reminder of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem when the crowds waved palm branches of victory. Naomi Cooke rode her pony, Pip, up through the aisles to dramatise, "Behold our God who comes riding on an ass, the ruler who dares to be last rather than first," as the congregation waved their palms.  Hymns, prayers and Gospel readings continued the service. Afterwards, more breakfast was served!
