Quiz Night at the Sportsman's Inn in aid of ND Hospice and St Peter's, Rose Ash

What a fantastic night. The ninety people who attended Quiz Night held at the Sportsman’s Inn on Friday 1st March made the evening a brilliant success. Overall £760 was raised and has now been divided between the North Devon Hospice and St Peter’s Church in Rose Ash (both receiving £532 and £228 respectively).

As always, the Sportsman’s did us proud by laying on a lovely carvery and ensuring that we all had a lot of fun and, as it was St David’s Day, the ‘Big Yellow Raffle’ was held (drawn by the only Welshman at the event!). Donations were generously given by many of our local businesses including The Real Ale Girls, Finishing Touches, Bray Valley Wines, Portlantis Ltd, Zest, Shapland and Searle, Ash Moor Nursey, the Stag Inn at Rackenford and Mole Valley Farmers. Thank you all so much for your support.

Paul Glover, our Quizmaster for the evening, gave his time to support both of our charities and we are extremely grateful to him for his valuable contribution to the evening.

Huge thanks also go to Trudy Charman and Una and Steve Blundell for organising such a brilliant evening. Thank you for all your hard work in ensuring that everyone had a wonderful evening and for raising so much for two such deserving causes.
