ACT - now EAT (Edgemoor Group AT Home)

Anstey Christians Together (ACT) began as a monthly home group meeting some sixteen years ago. Naturally, once the pandemic hit, meetings had to be suspended. By September, with no end in sight, Susan Bew and Sue Baker (ACT organizers) and Penny Lawson brainstormed migrating ACT online. The idea of throwing the doors open to the whole Edgemoor group was born and the name changed to EAT (Edgemoor AT home).

Our first meeting was at the beginning of November and we had a good crowd. Our theme was ‘what has kept us going through such a difficult time?’. We shared some thought provoking stories, poems, prayers, music and videos – some funny and some utterly inspirational.

The next meeting was to celebrate Advent as we prepared for Christmas.  Again, this was well-attended: many wore either Christmas hats or jumpers and brought along their particular memories of Christmas - or special items/objects.  We played some beautiful pieces of music and videos of the nativity.  Again, our evening was a blend of the light-hearted and the truly meaningful – exploring faith doesn’t preclude fun.

Meeting on Zoom means numbers are not limited by the size of a room so all are welcome – hope to see you with us soon.
